Launch Page for New Format for the Palliative Care Program
Please read all 5 steps first before clicking the link to go to the Baptist Health University (BHU) and accessing the Palliative Care Program. Once you have logged in successfully (Step 1), checked system requirements (Step 2), checked that your license information is correct or is entered (Step 3), you are ready to enroll in the course (Step 4) and complete it (Step 5). Step 1: Log into Baptist Health University (BHU) http://www.healthstream.com/hlc/bhsf Visit BHU either from work or from home and login. Make a Favorite on your browser so you can go back easily. Use your Employee Number as your Username and as your initial Password use your Employee Number + your two initials of your name (Capitalized!). For example, Jane Smith’s login info would be: Username: 12345 Initial Password: 12345JS If you experience difficulties logging in, contact your BA.
Step 2: Check BHU Operating System Requirements In order to participate in courses successfully you will need to make sure your computer meets the minimum operating system requirements. At BHSF, most of the settings are already correctly set. However, you may need to enable Cookies and disable Pop-up blocking. Please refer to the BHU Computer Setup document.
Step 3: Check and Add Other Discipline and License Information in order to receive CEUs This is a critical step to do in order to receive CEUs for all courses that you take in the BHU in other disciplines you are certified. Please review the Managing Discipline and License Information document. Your primary license number may already be entered but check before beginning your first course in BHU.
Step 4: Enroll in Course You will need to click on the tab Catalog. Type in Palliative and click the Search button. You will see a number of courses. There are several versions of this course for various disciplines/positions. Click on yours (stack of books icon is to the right of it): Intercultural Palliative/End-of-Life Care (Core) Program for
Click on the Enroll button, then click on Enroll again next to the first part to get started. |
Step 5: Complete Course Inside the first part you will find Course Learning Activities which you will need to complete in order to move on to the second part, the 2-hour classroom session. This program's learning activities include online learning modules, quizzes, evaluations, and a classroom session. In order for all earned CEUs to be transferred to your BHU transcript you must complete both parts of this program. You can stop at anytime during the online modules and pick up again where you left off if you click on Exit Lesson. This will place a bookmark in the lesson that will be offered to you when you return that looks like this:
When you return to your course, you will find it listed under the My Learning tab in the Elective Learning section. Click on the title again to continue. You can see your Status and Last Accessed date and time. You will need to click on the Launch button to continue Once you have successfully completed all activities in the first part, including the Palliative Care Final Evaluation, you are ready to complete the second part. Click the Enroll button for the second part which is now available. Click on the classroom learning activity to register for a classroom session. You will need to find the session you are interested in attending and click on Register next to it. After you have participated in the classroom session you will need to return to the second part and complete the classroom evaluation. If you need to reschedule your classroom session, you can return to the second part, and drop the classroom session, and register for another session. DO NOT UNENROLL from the course to change sessions or you will lose your credits. Finally, you can check your CEUs under the My Transcript tab and print your certificates. |
